The golfing scenes in The Longest Yard (2005) however were filmed at the Lost Canyons Golf Club, limo rentals travelers told us. Saving Mr. Banks (2013) is one of many movies partially filmed at Big Sky Movie Ranch, a popular place to visit for party bus and limousine services. In this film you can see the family walking through a field in Australia at the beginning of the movie, which was filmed here. Others include the helicopter scene in The Mummy (2017) and the World War II-scenes from Captain America: The First Avenger (2011). TV-series filmed here include Westworld (2016-), Little House on the Prairie (1974-1983), Gunsmoke (1955-1975), Dallas (1978-1991), Jericho (2006-2008), Rawhide (1959-1965), and many more. Another film with scenes from Big Sky Movie Ranch is Django Unchained (2012). The scene where racists are planning an attack on Dr. Schultz’s wagon was filmed here. A nighttime overview of Simi Valley is featured in a favorite movie of several limousine rentals clients, namely in The Big Lebowski (1998). In the movie Hail, Caesar! (2016) there’s a scene showing Rome’s Appian Way, which also was shot here. The mountain featured in the ending scene of Transformers (2007) with Optimus Prime may have looked familiar to local Simi limo rental clientele. This scene was filmed on the top of Whiteface Mountain!

The saucer crash scenes in Men in Black (1997) was also done at Big Sky Movie Ranch. Coming to America (1988), Wild Bill (1995) and Driftwood (1994) are just a few others featuring scenes from this ranch. The palace seen in Coming to America with Eddie Murphy was built on flat lands behind the ranch. Many may remember the toy village built by Mount McCoy in the winter of 2002-2003. 24 "houses" were built here for the filming of The Cat in the Hat (2003). The neighborhood and city center in this film was located right here by the Ronald Reagan Library and nearby Mount McCoy. Remember the drive-in movie scene from Poetic Justice (1993)? In this film you can see Janet Jackson watch a film at the former Simi Valley Drive-In (361 Tierra Rejada Road). The home and neighborhood featured in Honey, I Blew Up the Kid (1992) is located at Azure Hills Dr. In the end of Bachelor Party (1984) you can see chase scenes from the fictional Mann 36 Theater, actually located at the Mann 6 Theater in Simi. Corriganville Movie Ranch, now named Corriganville Park, is another popular filming locale in Simi Valley and a favorite destination for Thousand Oaks party bus and limo rentals in Simi. It is located in eastern Simi Valley at 7001 Smith Road. An underwater scene in Adventures of Superman was for example filmed in the underwater bunker here, nicknamed Robin Hood Lake, which is still standing today and is a popular place to photograph for clients of limousine services. Our clientele at the limousine services have told us about the many other movies featuring water scenes from the concrete pool here include Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954), Jungle Jim (1948) and The African Queen (1951). The army fort in the film Fort Apache (1948), starring John Wayne, was also located at Corriganville. Recently we had tourists visiting here by limo rentals services to see their favorite filming locations here. The same fort was also featured in The Adventures of Tin Tin (1954-1959), a TV-series where most outdoor scenes were filmed here. The same fort was also used for filming The Swordsman (1948) and others. There’s also a cave here which was often used as an Indian hideout. Limo clients have recognized this cave from Arizona Whirlwind (1944), Billy the Kid vs Dracula (1966), The Fugitive (the episode “10,000 Pieces of Silver”) and Perils of Nyoka (1942). Some movies with scenes here include Jack and the Beanstalk (1917), Range Warfare (1935), Shooting High (1940), Judith of Bethulia (1940) and others. 7 Best Things To Do In Thousand Oaks, CA

Thousand Oaks may seem like a relatively boring bedroom community, but even Southern California's largest limousine services are located here and  there are lots to do for fun! Whether you’re looking for a fun party bus night out with friends, an airport transfer or a day with the kids or family, adding a Thousand Oaks limo to a special day will help make it even more memorable. Having had our limousine services located in Thousand Oaks for over twenty years, American Luxury Limousine knows the community better than anyone. Thousand Oaks is the largest community of the Conejo Valley — a valley consisting of the communities of Newbury Park, Westlake Village, Oak Park, Agoura Hills and Thousand Oaks. T.O. is also one of the safest and most affluent cities in America, having been rated the 4th safest city in the United States by the FBI in 2013. The city is named for all its oak trees, hence the name, and was named “one of the best places to live in America” by Money Magazine in 2006. The city might be most famous for having hosted the Tour of California bicycle race and for being the home of California Lutheran University (CLU), one of the top rated universities on the West Coast. So without further due, these are our top 7 best things to do in Thousand Oaks!

8. Heated Outdoor Swimming
Maybe may not use a Thousand Oaks limo to get there, and many may not realize, but the community swimming pools at California Lutheran University (CLU) are open to the public. The pools are heated and there's only a $3 admission fee per person. The pools opened to the public in 2010 and stays open every day throughout the year. Their opening times are 1 through 4:30 pm Mondays-Fridays, 7-9 pm Mondays,  Wednesdays, Fridays, and 12:30-4:30pm in weekends. So while you may not reserve a party bus or limousine services to a public swimming pool, you may want to check this out with the family.

7. Stagecoach Inn

One of the Conejo Valley’s oldest and most historic sites is the Stagecoach Inn of Newbury Park. Opening in 1876 as the Grand Union Hotel, the old hotel has now been renovated into a museum and is now a California Historical Landmark and appears on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Built by redwood collected from the ocean, the Stagecoach Inn is now also considered one of California’s most haunted sites. Many ghost-enthusiasts and people getting married as well are visiting by Thousand Oaks limo or party bus. Whether to visit by limousine services or drive here yourself,  you can discover many historical artifacts on display, from the Tri-Village to Chumash exhibits to the old timber school dating back to 1877. One of the truly unique exhibits include mammoth bones found right here in Thousand Oaks. Across the street from the Stagecoach Inn Park is where we find the Rosewood Trail to Angel Vista, a mountain peak in Santa Monica Mountains offering great 360-degree views of the Conejo Valley, Pacific Ocean, Santa Susana Mountains and other nearby areas.

6. Wildwood Regional Park

This over 1,700 acre regional park is home to over 27 miles of hiking trails and has been the movie setting in various films, TV-series and commercials. A favorite for locals, Wildwood also has a blooming wildlife of animals such as mountain lions, deer, turtles, hawks, scorpions, snakes and various other species. This is a place for about any recreational activity, whether it’s for hiking, jogging, horseback-riding, mountain biking, photographing, picnicking or camping. With hiking trails to/from nearby communities such as Newbury Park, Moorpark, Santa Rosa Valley and Thousand Oaks, your limousine services can drop you off by one entry and pick you up after your hike at the other end of the park. Some of the highlights here include the seventy feet high waterfall, Paradise Falls, and the lizard-looking mountain, Lizard Rock. There are beautiful panoramic views from the Teepee Overlook by the wooden teepee and from the Mountclef Ridge. Some of the films and TV-series filmed here are Gunsmoke, Wuthering Heights, Dodge City, Spartacus, Bonanza, Davy Crockett: King of the Wild Frontier, and many others. We even have transported airport transfer trips going directly to Wildwood from LAX!

5. MB2 Raceway

Ever tried go karting? MB2 is the place! Bring the kids along for a day of indoor go kart racing or celebrate a birthday party, school outing, corporate event or bachelor party here. Between the races you can enjoy the pool tables, air hockey, arcade games and more. Put your skills into high-gear at the 60,000 sq. ft. facilities of MB2 Raceway in Newbury Park!

4. Gardens of the World

With its pristine lawns, magnificent fountains and peaceful lakes, the Gardens of the World is a must to visit - and best of all - is completely free of charge! Given as a gift to the people of Thousand Oaks from the founder of Pleasant Holidays, a local travel company, the Gardens of the World is located right across Thousand Oaks Boulevard from the Civic Arts Plaza. It is home to five separate gardens representing five cultures of the world, including an English-, French-, Japanese-, Italian- and Californian Mission garden. Enjoy the koi pond in Japanese garden, the colorful roses at the English garden and see the unique grapes at the Italian garden. Check their websites for upcoming kids’ scavenger hunts or outdoor summer concerts. Bring along lunch for a nice lunch in the peaceful setting, and do not forget to bring your camera for pictures!

3. The Oaks

One of the county’s most premier shopping malls can be found in Thousand Oaks. This two-level indoor/outdoor mall features nearly 200 retail shops including many top brand names. The Oaks has one of the county’s newest and most modern movie theaters (Muvico) and many of its best restaurants and bars can be found here. Movie nights to these theaters are popular for students at CLU and others booking Thousand Oaks limo services. The 1,300,000 square feet mall features stores such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Victoria’s Secret, Vans, Urban Outfitters, Michael Kors, Macy’s, Nordstrom, JCPenney, Forever 21, Apple and many others. Restaurants include the Cheesecake Factory, Lazy Dog Cafe, Olive Garden, Red Robin and Red Lobster.

2. Santa Monica Mountains

Thousand Oaks is one of the few cities that can brag its own backyard National Park land. Almost a thousand acres of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area (SMNRA) is located within southern Newbury Park, including the Satwiwa Native-American Indian Culture Center (Rancho Sierra Vista) and Mount Boney (Boney Peak). While many come here to hike and learn about the Chumash at Satwiwa, the most popular for our Thousand Oaks limo service has been the Rocking K Horse Rentals. Here you can rent a horse and go horseback-riding in the gorgeous rolling green hills of the Santa Monica’s. From here you can also hike - or bring your mountain bike - for a ride/hike all the way to the coast through the Big Sycamore Canyon. Up here in the Santa Monica Mountains is also where many of our wine tours visit wineries such as SIP Malibu Grapes, Cornell Winery & Tasting Room and Malibu Family Wines. These mountains are also recognized as one of the world’s most important archeological areas where countless Native-American artifacts have been found. Chumash pictographs are also found throughout the area, for instance at the Saddlerock Ranch vineyards.
